B6288

After lengthy delay after delay to the work being carried out on the B6288 (Merrington Lane), Cllr Luke Holmes has been pushing for work to be completed and the road to be reopened. Just 2 weeks after his election, the B6288 has reopened, once again connecting the communities of Spennymoor and Kirk Merrington.

"This road provides a vital link for residents to get to work, drop kids off at school, and the opportunity for passing trade. Throughout this pandemic, the hospitality industry has been hit hard, and passing trade is essential for the survival of businesses such as pubs. I am extremely pleased that the contractors have now completed the work and reopened the road despite the delays residents have encountered." said Cllr Luke Holmes.
